Today at the
Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona,
Microsoft made the announcement that we all where waiting for. The next installment of Windows OS for
smartphones is going to be Windows Phone 7 Series. Going by the press conference and release, we can take for granted that the old
GUI is over. It seems that the new GUI is based on the one found on the
ZuneHD. Say good bye to that dump stylus (yeah!). Also, the new thing that Microsoft is trying, is the full experience integration between our three screens (TV, PC & phone). All that will be connected to the cloud, wired or wirelessly, with data redundancy for your three or more devices on that ecosystem. It is to be seen if this new OS iteration will be competitive in a market full of Palm, Nokia, Blackberry, Android and iPhone OS devices.
